Ages 9 - 10 as of December 31, 2011. Born in 2001 - 2002
The Q-55 program is designed with the main objective being that the skiers become technically competent and to utilize their skills to explore a wide range of skiing activities from racing to free skiing environments. The program is designed for children 9 - 10 years of age, though some children may be ready to move into a 2 day program at age 8.
Approval is required by the Program Director for this age group.
- Children ski with their group from 9:15 am - 3:00 pm.
- This includes a 45 minute lunch (children return to their parents).
- The program includes a series of multiple day camps.
- The skiers will attend a number of races within the Province.

- January 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29
- February 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 25, 26 - No program on the Family Day Weekend
- March 3, 4, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31
- April 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15
- this includes the Fridays prior to a race
- Race schedule calendar: Jasper - Jan. 27, 28, 29 / Panorama - Feb. 10, 11, 12 / Norquay - Mar. 16, 17, 18
- A minimum of 10 days will be spent at Lake Louise or Sunshine
Total of 55 days on Snow
Program includes: Coaching days, report cards, support material, team photo
Program Cost: $2200
Additional Costs include: Alberta Alpine Athlete registration - $74, Family membership with the Banff Alpine Racers and Alberta Alpine Ski Association - $100, Alberta Alpine raffle tickets (one package per family - $200), participation in the Grocery Card Fundraising Program, ski equipment/clothing, pass/tickets, race fees (where applicable).
